Title: Spyin' Kop: Monaco, them and Us
Post by: Armin on November 21, 2004, 02:24:36 pm
Bonjour tout les monde! et bienvenue a 'Spyin' Kop'.  This week we have travelled beyond these shores to visit the superbly named 'red-boys' mais zut alors they aren't the avid Liverpool supporters you may have expected.  These red-boys follow Monaco and so via the miracle of my schoolboy French and lavish overuse of le francais de 'google' we have bridged the barriers of language itself et voila!  Truly this weeks article is a miracle of trans European co-operation,  dare I say its formidable?

De rien, in the immortal words of Wogan et al - Here are the results of the French jury:

RAWK: How has the season been so far?

Arnaud: The beginning of season seems me to be insufficient for a team which plays to gain 1st place.  That made since September 22 that Monaco did not gain.

RAWK: What are your expectations for this season? Have they changed from day one?

Arnaud: I hope that the ASM will gain the championship.  The ambitions of the club
are the same one.  A qualification for Champion' S League is a minimum
(first in the third place in France).

RAWK: Who do you think is your most important player?

Arnaud: There is not one significant player but for me it is all the team, even if a player as Bernardi is a very significant player.

RAWK: What do you expect in the way of singing, etc from our away support?

Arnaud: It is an exceptional environment when you to begin again the songs together.

RAWK: What is the atmosphere like at Monaco?

Arnaud: The atmosphere in Monaco is an exceptional environment where all the players seem friends.

RAWK: Any young players in the Monaco squad that we might not know about?

Arnaud: We have young very promising players.  However, players like Plasil, Squillaci or Givet are very good players who are established.

RAWK: Are there any cheap places where our supporters can go in Monaco to eat and drink?  Mainly drink!

I do not know cheap places in Monaco since I live in Paris.  But that surely
exists:)

RAWK: What sort of line-up will Monaco put out against us?

Arnaud: Didier Deschamps has just tried a new tactic against Lille (1-1).  He set up one 4-4-2 with Saviola and Plasil on the sides, leaving Adebayor and Kallon on the bench of the substitutes.  He will surely try it against your team.

RAWK: Do you have a favourite/best chant or song and perhaps any that require an explanation?

We have a song using the theme of the music of Coorky (I know if you
know).  I hope that our supporters will be able to sing:  But they are
where, but they are where Liverpool.  Note it is a joke.

RAWK: Where do you expect Monaco and Liverpool to finish in the Champions League?

Why not find our two clubs in the final?

RAWK: Which Liverpool player will you fear the most?

Djibril Cissé is a player who was very impressive although his serious wound unfortunately will deprive us of this meeting. Now there remains Barros.

RAWK: Do you think you will play better at home?

We hope to better play at home. Even if at this moment Monaco plays better
away!

RAWK: Care to predict the score?

Arnaud: I think it will be a tight game. Say 2-1 for Monaco.
