Ain't silverware nice?

This is a trophy.

A trophy is a piece of silverware handed out to the victorious team.

Some trophies are handed out to the team who has been most successful over the course of a league season. Other trophies are handed out to the team who successfully negotiated their way through a knock-out competition. Some trophies, won on foreign shores, are won because a team were at the top of a league format and then successfully negotiated their way through a knock-out competition.

Trophies are the physical reward to the team who wins.

This is Liverpool Football Club.

It was once said that Liverpool football club existed to win trophies.

Liverpool football club have won more major trophies than any other team in England.

Some were won in leagues, others were won in cups. Some trophies were won on the back of dazzling displays of ability and flair, others were won on steel and determination. Some may say some trophies were won due to luck. Others may say that certain trophies were won due to fate. All were won. Whether Liverpool Football Club broke goal-scoring records or whether they thanked ‘Ghost Goals’; they won trophies.

Trophies are for winners.

Recently – despite being the best at it in their country – Liverpool have not won many trophies.

An entire era has passed barren as the club went without trophies. Without silverware. Owners, managers and all manner of false idols have passed through Liverpool Football Club without winning a trophy.

Today Liverpool Football Club won another trophy.

The How's will not matter when history looks back at a trophy-winning machine ending an unnaturally long period without silverware.

Winning is what matters.
